It has been noted that the what is marked on the map as Colthurst Lane should be Mark House Lane. Although that is correct, I've known it as Colthurst Lane since I was a nipper. Don't get upset it's as a bit of local history. When I was about 8 somebody asked the way to Barnoldswick and I didn't know where it was because we always called it Barlick. If you keep your ears open around the village you might hear a few more, they're not wrong, just a local interpretation, a bit like jazz. Or maybe not.
